It's Been How Long?

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted anything. It was the first day of school and now it's after Halloween. We just got back from a visit to grandma's house. Those trips are always so fun. We got to go on a hay ride (sort of) there wasn't any hay, but it was still lots of fun. We got to pick our own pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. Grandma was the hero of the day. She called to see if we could get a ride, and the guy told her he had just put the wagons away for the winter. He said we could still get an ice cream cone if we wanted. She told him that we would if he would consider giving us a ride. He finally agreed to pull out the wagon for us and we went for a ride that afternoon. While we were there, a lady with 2 little kids got at ride too. She said that she was glad that we were there. It was fun for everyone. YAAAY GRANDMA!!! Here are some pictures.

Back To School

First day of Kindergarten

First day of 5th grade

Sayin' BYE to the BRO...

Well, the first week of school is over. For the most part it was a success. I didn't get all the things I wanted to do done, but that's OK. No one whent without lunches or clean clothes, and I think Mom did all her Homework (reading, signing, and returning paperwork, paying fees, buying last minute necesities, etc.) Everyone made it where they needed to go on time. Will you believe it, I wasn't overly stressed because I miraculously managed to combine schedules into pairs. Only two school schedules. YAHOOOOO!!

Ever since I was pregnant with Chris, I worried that this year I would have 1 child in High School, 1 child in Middle School, 1 child in all-day Elementary School, and 1 child in half-day Kindergarten. Four different schedules, YIKES. Since then we added an infant at home and my part-time job at night, not to mention a new calling that can be time consuming at times. If that isn't mental suicide, I don't know what is.

I think the miracle of the combined schedules had less to do with me, and more to do with a loving Father in Heaven who is always taking care of me (and my sanity). Yes, I am quite sure that this is one of those tender mercies everyone is alway talking about. Now, we'll see how it goes when we add dance or other classes to the mix. Ha. Wish us luck.

Where do I Begin

There are many things to do before the kids go back to school. I don't know where to start. Some of the school shopping is done. That part is managable, but the problem is that we are in the process of shifting bedrooms. This means that it's time to make the kids go through all the boxes of "treasures" in their closets and under their beds. It is time to purge and it's a painful process for some members of the family. I have threatened to do it myself, but I informed them that I would probably end up getting rid of most of their things. As unattractive as this option was to them, I honestly think that they would rather leave it for me than to wade through the endless sea of STUFF. I will probably have to make good on my threat. Yipeee!!! FUN for me!!! Aside from that, there are many other things that have to be reestablished like chores, bedtimes, schedules, etc. Well, you get the picture. I will say one thing, it'll sure be nice when I get it all done.

HERE WE GO

Well, what do you think of my first attempt at blogging. I don't know what I'm doing ,but I will learn. I can see that this could potentially be a hinderance to getting my housework done. I just spent 3 hours looking for a picture that didn't work anyway. I will probably keep looking for it too. This is very sad. Right now I need to go get ready for work, but in the words of the famous Governer of the Great State of California, "I'LL BE BACK!"
